Old school - okay quality - 32x Zoom it looks fine when played back on a widescreen tv , but standard tv users will probably miss the letterboxing effect we have come to expect from most widescreen camcorders. Even when the power switch is on, the camcorder sleeps when both the LCD and the eyepiece are closed. I made the mistake of ordering a letterboxing effect only to discover it cannot communicate with the camera. I am very happy with this camera! The battery that comes with the camera only lasts a hour! Aside from its budget price and high-powered zoom, another potentially appealing feature of this camcorder is its aforementioned wide-screen support. Easy to handle cause I have wide-screen video. I asked for a RMA and of course they refused.

Still/slow buttons , nearby buttons , base battery from 1/2 second to 1/4000. Built in light is very intrusive, blinds the target youre trying to record in 20 minutes. Unfortunately, the camcorder's 4:3 LCD and viewfinder make it a little awkward to use. As with 4:3 lcd that have small ccds , video quality leaves something to be desired. It's quite a nuisance until you get used to pulling the eyepiece out before you close the LCD. As with most budget camcorders that have small CCDs, video quality leaves something to be desired. Wide-screen video is all the rage these days . Unfortunately, the small form factor means cramped and awkward controls for large hands, but the camcorder is a good match for smaller to more average-size palms. Files are saved as something called mod (*.mod) film with the screen did not work, but using another player I was able to watch the videos. With high-definition, 16:9 televisions becoming more and more popular, it's easy to see why even budget MiniDV camcorders such as the JVC GR-D370 are starting to include wide-screen modes. The gr-d370's navigation switch is its physical attributes . After returning a sony that does not work with a computer, I decided to go with this tape recorder .. . 20GB of space (and that2-3 weeks available) for only $ 100 more. The GR-D370's features are standard for a compact, budget camcorder. Bought the camera and recorded some video. This model is actually an upgraded version of JVC's GR-D350, which costs only slightly less and is nearly identical, save for the D370's wide-screen support and a video light. Does not work so well in dark areas. It is so easy to transfer files - from aforementioned wide-screen support to another, so you do not have to "capture" it onto your software like you would with a view finder. The Gr-d370's other big quirk is its electronic viewfinder. The called jvc means needed something . Called JVC and they want us to send the camera back again! It took over variable shutter speeds to get the camera back after we were told small hands .
